Omokoroa is a seaside community between Tauranga and Katikati in the north island of New Zealand. The village at Omokoroa Point is situated just off State Highway 2, on the Omokoroa Peninsula in Tauranga Harbour, a short 20 minute drive from downtown Tauranga. Popular with retirees who enjoy the local 18 hole golf course and easy access to the harbour for water activities, Omokoroa has become a destination for families wanting to improve their 'work / life balance'. Most homes have excellent harbour views at a price not as expensive as Tauranga or Mount Maunganui.  Offering safe beaches, walkways, a boat club with adjacent boat ramp and wharf,  Bowling Club, Reserves and Shopping Centres, there is somethig for everyone. The hotpools provide a fun way to relax, and the Primary School and Community Hall make Omokoroa a great place to raise your kids.  The shopping centres also provide a chemist, medical centre, takeaways, hairdresser, lawyer and popular resource centre. A 15 minute drive away is Bethlehem Shopping Centre with supermarket or alternatively Katikati is a similar distance with a variety of shopping. The blend of bach to modern million dollar homes gives this area a 'village atmosphere' and is truly 'The Bay of Plenty's Best Kept Secret'.
